I dealt directly with the director with regards to my home installation of a CAT6 ethernet cable. Michael was professional and friendly throughout, ensuring that every detail of the plan was recorded by means of a video call. The day before installation I got a reminder text from Michael, and on the day I was given a very accurate time for their arrival. The installation went smoothly with his team of two, I was working from home at the time and I had minimal disruption. They informed me of completion and offered to clean up and move all furniture back. This is how business should be done, 2580 have set a mighty example in the industry.

Copper cabling

Cat5e remains a practical choice for many of our projects in the North East. Cat6 offers higher performance and frequency, while Cat6a adds more headroom for longer 10Gb links, such as in warehouses or larger buildings. Cat7 is usually specified only for more specialist requirements. Our recommendation will depend on bandwidth, run length, equipment and future upgrade plans.

Fibre optic cabling

Fibre optic cabling offers higher bandwidth, covers longer distances and provides better resistance to interference than copper can offer. It is especially useful for risers, multi-floor buildings, separate cabinets and links between buildings.

As a general rule, fibre is best for cabinet-to-cabinet backbone connections.

Cat6 suits many business networks. Cat6a is better for longer 10Gb runs and denser environments. Fibre optic is usually best for backbone links, separate buildings and very high bandwidth. How long will installation take and can you work without disrupting our business?

Do you work in domestic properties?
