I dealt directly with the director with regards to my home installation of a CAT6 ethernet cable. Michael was professional and friendly throughout, ensuring that every detail of the plan was recorded by means of a video call. The day before installation I got a reminder text from Michael, and on the day I was given a very accurate time for their arrival. The installation went smoothly with his team of two, I was working from home at the time and I had minimal disruption. They informed me of completion and offered to clean up and move all furniture back. This is how business should be done, 2580 have set a mighty example in the industry.

FAQ

What cable type do we need, Cat6, Cat6a or fibre optic?

For many offices, Cat6 is a sensible starting point because it gives strong day-to-day performance for desks, meeting rooms and general business traffic.

Cat6a is the better choice where you want 10 Gigabit Ethernet over longer copper runs, such as in warehouses or large residential blocks, or if you need extra headroom for denser environments. It’s also useful where you’re future-proofing, leaving more room for system upgrades.

Fibre optic is usually best for backbone links, separate buildings or projects where bandwidth and distance make copper less suitable. The best choice depends on run length, hardware, PoE demand and growth plans. For this reason, we offer a free site survey before making a recommendation.

How long will installation take, and can you work without disrupting our business?

Installation time depends on the number of points, the routes available and whether the building stays live during the work.

Smaller jobs are often completed within one to three days, while larger fit-outs and warehouse projects can take longer and be phased around your team.

Work can also be scheduled around quieter periods and out of hours to keep disruption low.

Do you work in domestic properties?

Yes. 2580 also carries out residential data cabling for home offices, media spaces and full-home network upgrades, as well as infrastructure projects for large residential developments. We’re happy to accommodate domestic projects in and around Bristol.

How much does data cabling installation cost?

Cost depends on the cable type, number of outlets, route complexity, containment, access, testing requirements and whether older infrastructure needs to be removed or reorganised.

Ongoing support is available after handover, whether you need fault-finding, moves and changes, cabinet tidying or additional testing. If something goes wrong, the next step is to diagnose the fault, confirm the scope and arrange the quickest, least disruptive fix.
